Girls Day

Makenna keeps telling me that she wants a "girls day" with no boys allowed with her grandmas or me or whatever. She is all about the girls lately. I think her and Mark are starting to get on each other's nerves being couped up in the house all the time. So this particular day she asked if I could paint her finger nails and toe nails and if she could paint mine. I agreed to the toe nails, but had to draw the line on the finger nails. Here are the results. After she finished painting my toe nails it looked like I was bleeding from all parts of my toes! But she enjoyed it so that's all the matters I guess!

Steelers Super Fan

Seeing as how with the upcoming Super Bowl we are a house divided the kids have decided to take sides. Mark has sided with his father and is cheering for the Packers, but my lovely daughter is of course sticking to my side and cheering for the Steelers. I was all by myself watching the game on Sunday, but every once in a while when she heard me cheer she would come in and wave the terrible towel around and cheer with me. Here are some pictures of her. I thought it was so funny that she was sticking her tongue out the whole time. (Just like Mark always did).

Indoor Soccer

Sorry it has been so long since I posted. I was really sick all last week and then my neighbor gave me the book "Breaking Dawn" to read and I have been addicted to it and reading in every spare moment I have had...and finally finished it today...all 700+ pages. So now I guess I should get back to reality! Mark started playing Indoor Soccer a couple of weeks ago. He has done pretty well with it. Well...after we convinced him he didn't have to stay on the line like the coach said. He started to run around and have a good time. We did have one little incident after the game last weekend. When the other team scored, he looked at the goalie and said, "C'MON!" The little boy (That looks like a little girl) started to cry. I heard and saw what happened and made him go up to him and apologize and say good game. He did, but the little boy just looked away, sad. So Matt took him aside and ripped him a new one and then Mark was bawling his eyes out. Everyone felt bad for him, but Matt and I. He needs to learn not to treat other kids that way. They said it was too harsh, but I said what if the situation was reversed. You always have to think how you would feel. Anyway, he got the point. Here are some videos of him playing:

The Makenna Show

Wow...is all I have to say. She could go on for hours I think. Maybe one day she could have her own show. Her facial expressions are what get me the most. She is just so creative and LOVES to tell stories...maybe she'll be an author when she grows up. Who knows... but I do know that whatever she does, it will be Great...because she will make it that way. :)

Story Time

I was putting Makenna to bed tonight and she asked again for the 50th time why I have a dollhouse on her planter shelf in her room. She said, "Mom, I thought I told you I didn't want that up there anymore and that I wanted you to take it down." I said, "Makenna, let me tell you a little story..." and continued to tell her about how there was once a little girl named Ashlee who wanted a dollhouse for Christmas one year and came down the stairs and found her favorite color dollhouse and loved it so much...etc....and that one day I wanted my daughter to have it and love it like I did...etc...So after I was done talking she said, "Okay, Mom now I have to tell you a story" and she went on to tell me a story about a little girl who peed her pants and how her parents got so ferusterated (yes, I know I spelled it wrong, I was spelling how she said it...it was too funny)...with her and so they smashed her piggy bank and gave all the money to the neighbors. Be End." So I was laughing so hard that I had to go grab the camera. She decided to tell me a few other stories as well...so here they are:
