Chicago Marathon

And they're off...
Looking good at mile 26! It was all uphill at the end!

Finished!!!!
(Forced a smile through A LOT of Pain!)

Matthew ran the Chicago Marathon this past Sunday and finished it in 4 hours and 38 minutes. It wasn't what he originally wanted, but we think that it's great for his first marathon, the fact that he was running with a torn tendon in his foot, and that he ran with a chest cold. He was at 1 hr and 55 minutes at the half way point. He said he felt like he hit a wall at mile 20. He said that when he crossed the finish line he thought, "That was the dumbest thing I have ever done." He says he will never run another one ever again, but we will have to wait and see. He already wants to run a Mini Marathon (13.1 miles) in Indy in 3 weeks. He's crazy if you ask me! But we are so proud of what he accomplished. Thank you to everyone for all of your support with Matthew and with your donations to OE (Opportunity Enterprise). He raised $1956.00! We cannot thank you enough, and are just glad that this particular journey is over!
