Glasses

Makenna loves to put sunglasses on. Whenever she sees any pair, she says, "gasses" and goes to grab them. I just thought she looked so cute in the Star sunglasses yesterday.

Yesterday we went to Matt's Uncle Curt's going away party because he is going to be moving to Florida. It was a great family day where the kids got to spend some time with all of Matt's Aunts and Uncles, who they love. Matt's cousin Chapin got out his Mandolin and let Mark play it, which you know Mark was in Heaven. He didn't stop talking about it for the rest of the day.

First Assist

Well, Mark had yet another soccer game today and while on previous games he would just stand there, at least today he decided to prance around and pretend to play. He was just staying behind everyone else and pretending to kick when they did. However, through all of this, he did manage to get his first assist on a goal today...for the other team. I think it was probably the one time he kicked the ball too! He did also have one throw in, but besides that he was more interested in what was going on around him. As you can see in the video, Rick gave him a little pep talk before the play and at least got him to kick it and go after it for a second, but it didn't last. We have two more games and we shall see how those go. For now, we see it as exercise and as an introduction to soccer...where it goes from here...who knows. =)

Picking Flowers

Makenna had a much better day today than the last few. She enjoyed being outside at Mark's game. Her and her cousin Alyssa picked flowers while Mark, Jenna, and Rylan played. I was so grateful for Alyssa keeping an eye on her so I could watch Mark. Although, Mark kept stopping playing to tell me that I needed to "go get her!" I guess my plan backfired!

Fashion Statement

Sorry, I haven't posted in almost a week. This week has been horrible. Makenna got a viral infection called Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. She has sores (blisters) on her hands, all of her toes, and on her tongue, and i'm guessing her throat. She got this Tuesday and still has it. They say it can last 7 - 10 days. She has been mostly screaming crying and saying, "Ouch" and pointing to her mouth. It's the saddest thing. I have just been trying to cuddle with her and make her feel better, but then she gets angry that it hurts and purposely starts hitting me or anything around her just to try to get yelled at so she can cry more. So needless to say, that is why I haven't posted in a week!
On a funnier note, these pictures were taken last week when Makenna woke up from her nap. I went in to get her and couldn't believe my eyes. She had pulled her shirt over her head. It was hilarious. I guess she didn't want to wear her shirt anymore...that or she was trying a new fashion statement!
