Game Time

Here is Mark playing in his very first soccer game ever. He did much better than I thought he would do since he didn't get much sleep last night and woke up with a bad cough. He ran around and did get the ball a few times! Even sometimes fighting to get it. He does need to still learn to dribble towards the goal and not the sideline, but hey, it's a start! We were very proud of him and he had a really good time. He did get tired towards the end, but that was to be expected. Another thing we have to work on with him is not shoulder bumping the other players! I don't know where he learned to play dirty, but it definitely wasn't from me! We'll have to see how the rest of the season goes!!!

1st Game - Warm-Up

Here is Mark warming up for his very first Soccer Game. He did great in warm-up kicking the ball back and forth between his teammates.

Out Mowing Again

Here is another picture of Makenna from one of our picnics last weekend where she again found a lawnmower to push around. She had that in her hands almost all day. She loved to push it around everywhere. Hopefully she'll like it when she's older too!

Mark & Adison's Volleyball Game

My friend Jill took Mark to a Chesterton Volleyball game the other night with her and her family. I guess she had mentioned it to Adison on the way home from Preschool and Mark asked if he could go too. Just like my son to invite himself somewhere! Anyway, she was more than willing to take him and he had such a great time. Him and Adison were the hit of the night I guess. Everyone kept asking Jill if they were related and when she said no, they would say, good because they are a match made in heaven. Him and Adison have so much fun together. We are so lucky that we have such great friends right down the street!

Soccer Practice or Tantrum

Well, Mark had another soccer practice tonight, however, he barely practiced. I guess he made it about half way through (which is about 15 minutes). Then he walked off of the field and I could barely get him to go back on. Makenna was there too and all she wanted to do was play with all the other kids and kick the ball around. Needless-to-say, I was at my Max Capacity when the 30 longest minutes of my life were over. You can see just how well he felt by the end in the second photo. Matthew had to remind me when I called him on the way home that Mark is ONLY 3 yrs old and just might not be the Soccer Super Star that I antcipated he would be the first time he touched a soccer ball and walked onto a field. I have big fears for his first game this Saturday, but oh well, it is just a game...right? No, I'm just kidding. I'm excited to watch him play even if it is only for a few minutes. Here are a couple videos from when he was actually playing.

Loveable Cousins

Here are a couple pictures of Makenna and Allyson from a Labor Day picnic on Monday. Allyson is Matt's cousin Meaghan's daughter. She is about 6 months younger than Makenna. Makenna loved seeing her this past weekend and loved giving her hugs and kisses!

A Brilliant Idea

Mark and Makenna wanted to play with their water table the other day and it was looking pretty grim. I went to get the hose and it wasn't outside like it usually is. I decided to fill it up with warm soapy water and told them that they got to wash their water toys. They were apparently thrilled. I patted myself on the back for that one considering their hands stayed clean and they had a great time!
