New Cousin

Makenna holding AnnaRose
Matthew holding AnnaRose

I swear she is smiling here!

A couple weeks ago we were down in Indy for a wedding and decided to swing by Matt's cousin Courtney's house to see her new baby girl. She was a month old then and just so cute. She also just happened to be wearing the outfit I got her which made her look even cuter! :) Of course, Makenna had to hold her because she just loves babies. Mark unfortunately wants nothing to do with babies so I couldn't get a picture of him with her. It was a great visit!

Dress-Up

Throwing out their webs...
Spiderman holding Spidergirl back...

"Don't Mess with Us!"

Mark and Makenna have loved playing dress up lately. They have always used Mark's outfits from either Halloween pasts or just some clothes like Pirate or Knight that he has accumulated over the years. Well, when we were out in PA visiting my family, my sister gave Makenna some dress up clothes and she has not wanted to take this one Butterfly costume off. Mark wanted something new to put on too so I got out his Halloween Costume. Well, when Makenna saw his she then wanted hers. So that is how we got both Spiderman and Spidergirl. (Oh, and when they are in costume, you have to call them Spiderman or Spidergirl, not Mark and Makenna. They won't respond to that b/c that's not who they are) They love dressing up in these outfits and ask to put them on almost daily. I think I have talked her into wearing the Butterfly outfit for Halloween though, which is good because she just looks so cute in it!

Stand Still!

Juke Left...
Cut Right....
I might come towards you...
And then Fake Left again!

If you all know my children you know one of the things about them is neither one of them can stand still. Makenna has especially been guilty of this lately. And even more so when I want to take her picture. It's like she's saying, "Ha, Ha, come and get me." She has been a real pistol lately and I have to somehow, somewhere find a little patience or else it's possible I might lose my mind!

Mark 1st Day of School

Getting all ready to go
School Stud

Walking into school

At the computer before class

Mark had his first day of school today and he did great. He loves going to school and after listening to the Orientation today, I love the school that he is going to. I was so excited to hear all of the things he will be learning this year and am so happy that Matt and I made the decision to hold him back one more year before Kindergarten. I think he will benefit so much more in school in the future by being older in school rather than being the youngest. This year will be so good for him!

Here's a picture of Sue Sylvester from Glee
Here is Makenna looking all cute and sporty
Going all Hollywood

Too Cute

If anyone watches the TV show Glee, they will know what I am talking about. I have been addicted that show lately and when I put Makenna in this little Adidas outfit I had gotten her that was all I could think of. It was too funny. I just thought she looked so cute and sporty!

Makenna 1st Day of School

Complaining the sun was in her eyes
Out in the backyard
Finally got a smile out of her

Was happy to stand by the pink flowers

Turning in her homework to Mrs. Walls

Mark posing for his picture...I have no idea where he got that pose!

Makenna had her very first day of school today! She started in 3-4 Pre-School at our church and she just loves it. Our morning didn't start out great because she didn't want her picture taken at all and then she threw a fit because I told her it was a shortened day today at school. She said, "I want a long day!" So then when we pulled up to the Church she asked again if it was a long day or a short day, and I just told her, longer than your last day at school. So she was okay with that. Hey, I wasn't lying. She has been so fiesty lately, so I hope that she doesn't act like that at school, but I am grateful that I know her teachers and told them to please let me know if she mouths off to them and we will have a little talk. But she loves going to school and was really excited to start. She turned in her homework, but then was upset that she had to give it away, so her teacher put a star sticker on it and then gave it back to her so she could take it home. Oh, what a day. Oh, and I didn't get any pictures of her with Mark on her first day b/c they both refused to take a picture together. Gotta love it.

Tyler Baptism

Tyler...so cute!
Makenna and Madison all smiles

Mark looking handsome

Me, Tyler, and Kim (Doug's sister) ~ The Godmother's

The Harrison Family

One of the main reasons for our trip out East was to see my nephew and godson, Tyler, baptised. It was a great family day and Mark and Makenna had a great time running around with Madison and other kids that had come to see Tyler. I just can't get enough of him!

Kennywood

Family of 4 for the day...
Makenna and Uncle Ryan
Alex and Makenna loving the Rollercoaster, "Lil Phantom"

Mark and Grandpa H spinning around

Makenna on the swings

Mark on the swings

We were in Pennsylvania for the past week and a half and we did a lot of fun things. The first day we took the kids swimming and the next day was Kennywood. I hadn't been here since I was proabably 6 years old. The kids had a blast and loved hanging out with Uncle Ryan and Alex. They were their own little family that day. Makenna was yelling at other little kids to put their hands in the air on all of the kiddie rides which was too funny. I had to explain that they don't have to if they don't want to. She just kept saying of course, "I want to go faster." It was a great day spent with family.

Back To School Soccer

Warming Up
Big Kick!

Shooting at the Goal

Throw In

Corner Kick

Mark started "Back to School Soccer" a couple weeks ago. He scored 2 goals in his first game! He has been doing much better lately and is getting much more agressive. He really enjoys it too and always asks if he has another game coming up. I just hope to get to see him play sometime soon! I have been at work or out of town when he has played. Maybe someday I guess.

Swimming

Getting thrown in by Uncle Ryan
Jumping off of the diving board to me and Bethany

Later on the afternoon of the Baptism we went swimming at the pool in my parent's neighborhood. Makenna had a great time with her Uncle Ryan again. She just loves playing with him so much. Also, a couple days earlier we went over to my mom's friend Jane's house and the kids went swimming there. She has a waterslide that Mark was unsure of at first, but finally decided to go down. It took a lot of convincing, but then he loved it.

Oh Makenna....So Many Faces...

Stop Ringing your bell I'm ringing mine...
Oh my gosh....HI!

Ahhhhh!

Not sure if I know you, but I'll say Hi.

My bell broke....

peace.

If there is anything Makenna is good at it is making faces. She also has so many sides to her... a sweet side, a smiley side, a fiesty side, and a peaceful side...and so many others I don't have enough time in one day to list them all...so here are some pictures from Indiana Beach to describe some of them...

Indiana Beach

Walking in to Indiana Beach
Driving Daddy around in the antique car
Mark driving Mommy in the antique car

Going "Super Fast" with Daddy and Grandpa J

Driving her favorite color car

Riding all smiley

Spinning around with Grandpa

We went to Indiana Beach with Matt's mom side of the family a couple weeks ago and the kids had a blast. Makenna kept saying she wanted to go on the "Fast" rides. She was quite the little dare devil. She eventually did crash in the middle of the day which was a good thing. Mark had a blast going on the rollercoasters with Matt and playing games with Grandpa. It was a fun day!
