Makenna First Birthday Pictures

I took Makenna to Portrait Innovations a couple weeks ago to get her official 1st Birthday photos. Here are some of the shots. It was so hard to decide-they took so many good ones!

Makenna is One!

As most of you know, Makenna turned One on Memorial Day. It was a busy time for us since I travelled to Pittsburgh with the kids for a week so we just went to her One year old check up today. She weighs 20 lbs 12 oz, is 28 1/2 inches tall, and her head size is 44.4 cm. She is in the 25th - 50th percentile range for all of those. The doctor was very impressed with her walking and her talking. He was also impressed with how well she listens to direction. (At least one of my children does!) She is such the happy girl now smiling and waving at everyone. He said her social skills are definitely good, which is no surprise when you look at her father. =) Her new favorite thing is a pretend cell phone that has the Disney Princesses on it. She loves to carry it around, open and close it, and push all of the buttons. She's not into TV yet, which is good, and is starting to love books more and more. Her favorite book right now is called, "Grandma and Me." It has flaps that she can open which is the part she loves the most. As you can see her hair is growing out more and more and she is becoming more and more of a blondie. I get compliments all the time on her big blue eyes, which again are credited to her father. We are just enjoying her so much. She is such a good little girl and I just hope that stays at least for a little while!

Mark riding his Bike

Here is a video of Mark riding his bike. He has gotten really good at it! Matthew wants to take the training wheels off already of course and I said NO WAY! Sorry about the shaky video at first. I almost fell off of the curb!

Jump-Salta!

Mark and Madison had a great time playing together last week when we were in Pittsburgh. They both loved jumping over Madison's bee jumping game. They kept yelling: Jump, Salta! Which is jump in Spanish. They definitely are learing a lot from watching Diego and Dora! Enjoy!

Another Musical Day

Makenna got this little piano from my sister for her 1st Birthday and both Mark and Makenna are already loving it. They were both playing it at first and then Mark grabbed his guitar and Makenna kept playing the piano. It was a great time for both!

First Pigs!

Makenna's hair has been getting longer everyday and I thought today I would try to find out just how long it had gotten. After her bath I tried to put pigtails in and it worked! I just cannot get over how big she is getting and how fast she is growing up! So here are some pictures of her very first pigtails! I just couldn't get over how cute she looked!!!

Story Time

It started out as a rough morning this morning where there was a lot of crying, whining, and lack of sharing. Ryan decided to read to the kids and it really seemed to help change their mood. If only he was around all the time! The kids have been all about their Uncle Ryan. He has had to read to them, put them to bed, and get them when they wake up. It will be sad tomorrow when we have to leave!
